CHRISTINA OLSÉNI & MICKE HANSEN
Reinventing crime fiction
In their debut novel, The Beach Hut, the writer duo Christina Olséni and Micke Hansen combine a real detective mystery with funny elements. The result is a page-turner without precedent which one completely flies through. And once again, the crime gengre is reinvented with something we haven’t seen before – Crime Comedy!
The idea for the series Murders in Falsterbo was born when Christina and Micke were in the same training group on the tennis court. They started to talk about their different writing projects and thought it would be much more fun to write together. Micke wanted to write humour and Christina had a detective story in mind, and all of a sudden, crime comedy was born. The Beach Hut was released in 2015. The first edition sold out in a few weeks and was praised by readers and critics. The book has reached a wide audience and suits twelve year olds as well as centenarians.
For inspiration Christina bakes and she has also climbed Japan’s highest mountain, Mount Fuji-san, without oxygen. Micke is a whiz at hockey games and when he’s writing, it is always on his Ipad, even the book manuscripts. The sometimes wild ideas for their books usually develop during long walks with Christina’s spoiled Jack Russel terrier.
