What would you do, if your worst nightmare should become a reality?

Psychiatrist and criminal profiler, Nathalie Svensson, is finally happy with her life. After her recent separation she has bought herself a small apartment in the centre of Stockholm where she can live a different, more exciting life, miles away from being a working single mother in Uppsala.

Late one evening she receives a text message from the famous actor Rickard Ekengård, who she spent a night with weeks earlier. He wants to see her again and they make plans to meet up. The moment Nathalie arrives at their meeting point, he is brutally shot and his body thrown in a fountain.

Not only is this a horrifying scene, but to Nathalie it feels as if history is repeating itself. Ten years before, Adam, the love of her life, was murdered in exactly the same way – a case that was never solved.

Is this a cruel twist of fate or is there a connection between the cases? The truth is far more sinister than Nathalie could ever have imagined.

REVIEWS

“If Swedish crime makes you think about the words “bloody”, “dark” and “depressive” Jonas Moström shows you in Higher than the Sky, that it works without blood … and still it’s incredibly suspenseful. When reading Higher than the Sky you are for a very long time uncertain who the murderer is. Even a dedicated crime fiction fan will continuously find new suspects in the story. Jonas Moström has created a really good game of confusion, of course more contemporary and with higher pace than the classical “Whodunit” as Hercule Poirot & Co. Nevertheless, everything focuses on the question “Who was it?” Higher than the Sky is the first book in a new series with the psychiatrist Nathalie Svensson. More will follow … and hopefully soon.”
Oliver Steuck, WDR 2 / DE

“Good detective story with lots of Nordic Atmosphere. With Nathalie Svensson, the author Jonas Moström has created a brave, clever and persevering character, which is easy to visualise in future crime novels.”
Bettys Welt, book blog / DE

“A real page turner.”

“The end of the novel has a real twist – you can feel the intensity of Nathalie’s shock and vulnerability. I want to read Moström again and again and stay in the world he has built.”
Sundsvalls Tidning / SWE

“Jonas Moström is an expert at building intrigue… and as you put together the pieces everyone is a potential suspect, meaning it is almost impossible to work out who the murderer is. He does it impeccably.”
Dast Magazine / SWE

“… a thrilling murder mystery …”
