Jenny Jägerfeld is awarded the acclaimed Kulla-Gulla Prize 2022, by the Marta Sandwall-Bergström Author’s Foundation managed by the Swedish Writers’ Association. The prize money is 89,000 SEK.
The motivation:
Jenny Jägerfeld has with her writing created a world that feels firmly rooted in our modern age and at the same time completely her own. It is a world that vibrates with life and energy. Her realistic prose is characterized by sharp situation comedy and a special ability to create images and characters that stay with the reader. Behind the laughter is a clear purpose to deal with difficult issues and an unimpaired loyalty to young people’s experiences. The existential questions are portrayed in an original way and in a hopeful direction towards understanding and reconciliation.
