Astrid Mohlin lives in Malmö and works as a screenwriter and director and she debuted as an author 2024. She writes for television and for the stage, and is the creator of several popular audio drama series, including the award-winning Christmas radio calendar Tjuven på Nicolaus Läroverk and Influenserbarnet, which won Best Audio Series at Prix Europa 2025. Astrid Mohlin’s debut novel, Fake, was nominated for both the Barnradion Book Prize and the Slangbellan Award for Best Debut in Children’s and Young Adult Literature.
Astrid Mohlin has studied radio and screenwriting at Stockholm University of the Arts (Stockholms konstnärliga högskola) and her trademarks are character driven stories with a witty yet realistic dialogue. She specializes in humour, young adult, and drama. When writing for young adults, one of the hardest things are to understand, but not underestimate, your audience. For Astrid, a key factor to achieve this, is research. Before creating the podcast series Fake she interviewed over 300 school kids, as well as travelling to Norway to meet the creators behind the tv-series Skam to discuss methods.
