Martin Larsson is an acclaimed Swedish writer and director working across film and television, known for blending drama and humour with strong ensemble storytelling.

Martin has built an extensive career in television, working as a head writer, episode writer and director on a range of Swedish series.

His recent work includes serving as head writer and episode director on the SVT drama Hålla samman (2022), directing episodes 5–8. He also wrote and directed the series Nästan inget for SVT, as well as the children’s series Önskans hjärta and Min kompis Dudo! for SVT Barnkanalen. As a writer, he has contributed to series such as Rig 45 (Viaplay), Lingonligan, and the well-known SVT comedy Starke man.

Martin made his feature film debut with Becker – Kungen av Tingsryd, produced by Anagram and released with the support of the Swedish Film Institute and SVT.

Earlier in his career, Martin worked closely with SVT Drama, writing series such as Stormen, which became a major audience success, as well as Familjen and Sjätte dagen. Alongside his work in television, Martin has written and directed numerous short films, including the acclaimed short Sköterskan.

Martin’s work spans multiple genres, from drama and comedy to thriller. He brings an experienced yet curious voice that has proven highly appreciated by both producers and audiences. Martin is now expanding his work to international productions and is currently developing a horror movie together with a Irish director.
