Andreas Ekström has a background in journalism and a long career as an award-winning speaker on the international circuit, with more than 30 countries as his workplace, as well as a TED Talk viewed by two million people. As a speaker and lecturer, he focuses on digital humanities; mankind’s space and place in the tech revolution. He has written ten books in a variety of styles and genres.

With his new book, he will be reaching a completely new international audience with his stunning life-affirming memoir Two Boys – One Life, chronicling not only his own life in razor-sharp prose, but also that of his childhood friend, Henrik, who died at the tender age of 11.

As Andreas, by then in his forties, is waiting for a lifesaving liver transplant, fragments from his childhood start to emerge along with memories of the catastrophic loss of his best friend. Along comes a realisation that just doesn’t leave him alone: there are clearly things he doesn’t know. Somehow, Henrik’s fatal accident and Andreas’ looming transplant has become intrinsically entwined in Andreas’ mind. With his own life in acute danger, Andreas begins  to research every little detail about what happened with one clear goal:

To die in peace – or to live on, to live the life of two boys in one.
