Anna Karolina is the Police officer who became a writer. Entering a writer’s education in the middle of her career was the first leap to what was going to be an outstanding authorship. By portraying the antiheroes, their complicated relationships, and their fight against everyone – including themselves – she quickly became one of Sweden’s most notable crime authors.

Both critics and readers were amazed when Anna Karolina’s first novel The Baboon (formerly named Savage Congress) appeared on the bookshelves. The book was the first one in the series about the notorious Police officer Amanda Paller and the cash-in-transit robber Adnan Nasimi. Anna Karolina got her inspiration for the books from her own career at the Robbery Unit in Sweden. But she didn’t want her books to portray solely the investigators, but the lives of the criminals as well. She wanted to tell the story about how leaving criminal activities isn’t always risk free.

With her fifteen years of experience Anna Karolina created a world of crime and punishment with considerable accuracy. So much so that her books have become wildly popular amongst people being held in custody. If you would like to read Anna Karolina’s books after being arrested, you would have to sign up on a waiting list.

Anna Karolina has two parallel series running. The Amanda Paller series keeps holding the readers in a firm grip. In the Ebba Tapper series, she has created two strong female protagonist who do not always agree on how the law should be interpreted, but they need each other and their different skills come together to solve the complex cases that Angela Köhler’s law firm takes on.

Anna Karolina has also written the stand alone thriller Seven Figures (Sjusiffrigt) and co-written two books in the Herkules-series with the Swedish author Mons Kallentoft.
