THE DARKNESS BETWEEN US (MÖRKRET OSS EMELLAN)

Molly & Rolf Börjlind

Psychological thriller about a family’s dark secrets and wounds.

During a windy week in October 25-year-old Emmie surprises her family at their cabin in the Stockholm archipelago. She wants to find out what really happened to her little brother Robin, who disappeared when they were children. He was believed to have drowned, but the body was never found and it is painful how much she misses him. In order to get on with her own life, Emmie needs clarity, but the parents avoid answering her questions. The mother is cold, the parents argue and the home which was once a grand and pompous house has really started to go to ruin.

The nearest neighbor is an elerly artist who lives in an old lighthouse. During a visit to his studio, Emmie finds a watercolor painting of two children playing. The painting is a detailed portrayal of Robin and herself, the summer when he disappeared
