Welcome Helena Thorfinn!

We are thrilled to welcome bestselling author Helena Thorfinn to the agency. Helena has written four books, the first three selling over 200 000 copies. Helena has a background as a journalist, anthropologist and as advisor in human rights, both internationally and in Sweden. She currently lives in Bangkok with her British husband who works at UN Asia. Apart from writing, Helena also regularly runs popular creative writing courses in Italy, and consults in both the aid and private sector.

Helena’s novels have given her a platform in the Swedish public debate on issues relating to human rights, international politics – with a particular focus on Asia – and gender equality. Her novels are often set in a world where the legacy of colonialism shapes people’s lives, and where the moral dilemmas faced by those trying to make a difference there are ever-present.

Helena’s vibrant new novel The Fourth Friend was published by Romanus & Selling August 2026. Spanning four decades and two continents, the novel follows three university friends whose Karen Blixen-inspired pact is put to the ultimate test on the Kenyan coast almost forty years later.
