Agnes Jeppsson is a screenwriter with a sharp eye for relationship dramas, crafting stories that feel both intimate and relatable. She has written short films that have won multiple awards, and has spent two years at SVT Drama, where she developed her dramaturgical instinct as well as learning how to write for one of the biggest commissioners in Sweden.
Agnes studied screenwriting at Biskops Arnö and later SKH, where her graduation film Tjejtoan 4-ever was selected as the school’s Oscars submission and had international premiere at Clermont-Ferrand 2022. The film sets in the girl’s bathroom on a club night and is a great showcase on Agnes ability to capture everyday struggles, through genuine dialogue that blends drama, humour and pop culture.
Agnes has also studied journalism and TV-production and have directed and edited several of the short films she has written. Trying different roles in a production has not only been a way to explore her love for film, but also something that has deepened her know-how as a screenwriter.
Since studying, Agnes has gotten valuable experience from some of the best people in the industry, working at both B-Reel and SVT Drama, where she has been a part of numerous writer’s rooms. Agnes has several projects in development, both her own ideas and others, and likes the variation.
The short Headache, which Agnes wrote together with Björn Schagerström, is another example where Agnes work has gained significant recognition. It was nominated for Best International Short at the 2024 Fantasia Film Festival, where it won double awards for directing and acting, and is currently in development to become a full-length feature. It is a twisted, comedic, absurd and simply amazing science fiction story, where Agnes proved that she could write in many different genres.
If you want to work with someone who can bring both heart and structure to your project, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
