Ehn nominated for queer literature prize

We are delighted to announce that The Sleeper by Johan Ehn has been nominated for the Prisma Literary Prize in the category of “Novel of the Year”.

Prisma is a Nordic queer literary prize that is being given for the second time in 2024. The winner in each category will be announced at the awards ceremony in Malmö on December 7.

Jury motivation:

In The Sleeper, we encounter topics that are central to many queer lives and that touch us deeply. With a pace and structure that compels binge-reading, the novel addresses themes such as religion, addiction, and abuse, as well as love in all its forms. Johan Ehn presents us with both clear characters and an important story about the right to be who you are.

Prisma is awarded to works that depict queer experiences and/or queer lives. That is, experiences that violate normative beliefs about sexuality, gender and relationships. Prisma wants to praise and draw attention to works that contribute to the literary conversation about queer lives.
