LIGHTS IN DECEMBER (NÄR LJUSEN TÄNDS)
Felicia Welander
December, 2025

Christmas, 1858. Snow falls over the cobbled streets of Stockholm’s Old Town, the scent of freshly baked Christmas bread fills Stortorget Square, and the entire city is preparing for the festive season. Yet amidst all the beauty, baker’s daughter Sara is fighting to save her family bakery and her future.
When the artist Aurora moves into the neighbourhood after leaving behind an unwelcome proposal, something begins to change. Like Sara, Aurora longs for the freedom to follow her passion, and an unexpected friendship soon blossoms between them. Before long, they are joined by Victor, a journalist who must decide whether to risk his career in pursuit of the truth or remain on the safe path he has already begun.
Lights in December is a novel about courage, dreams, and the friendships that emerge where we least expect them. It is also a story of how even the smallest light of hope can change everything, if only we allow it to burn.
