Theo Wanderydz is a screenwriter based in Stockholm, with a degree from the National Film & Television School in London. His speciality lies in high concept stories that draws you in instantly, and then keeps you interested with a layered depth. Theo writes in many different genres and has received several awards for both short films and spec scripts. In the fall of 2024, he was selected for The Black List’s prestigious writer’s lab.
After moving back to Sweden, Theo worked as a trainee at Film i Väst and as a Script Editor at Nexiko Drama. Those experiences gave him a lot of know-how on writing in a variation of genres, formats and styles, as well as how to write for different commissioners.
Parallel to working in writer rooms, Theo is developing several own projects. One of them, the horror film Wetiko, was featured on the Black List in the spring of 2024, and was later selected amongst 1700 submissions for The Black List’s prestigious writer’s lab. The film has been picked up by an international producer, who are developing it together with Theo.
Theo is drawn to cinematic, suspenseful stories across several genres, but always with a big heart and profound questions at the core. He’s determined to tell emotional and enduring stories that audiences will want to discuss, dissect and revisit several times after they’ve experienced them.
