Per Faxneld is a literary author and Associate Professor in History of Religions. His debut novel is being published by Albert Bonniers and he has earlier put out the short story collection “The Tree of Sacrifice” (translated into four languages).

Per has also published several academic books about esoteric and occult teachings, among them the award-winning ”Satanic Feminism: Lucifer as the Liberator of Woman in Nineteenth-Century Culture” (Oxford University Press 2017), and a guidebook to secret sights in Stockholm.

He often appears in media and has cooperated with museums like Millesgården, Nobelmuseet, Liljevalchs, and Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexiko City.

–What inspires your literary writing, Per?
“Folklore from northern Sweden, that my grandfather and other relatives used to tell me about. And all the peculiar persons and strange phenomena I encounter in my academic research!”
