For Anki’s birthday, her companion Tryggve gifts her a trip to Austria. While planning at a café, they meet the Öberg family, who are interested in a similar trip.
A few months later, it’s finally time for Anki and Tryggve to embark on their train journey, and to their surprise, when they arrive in the village of Altweg, they run into none other than the entire Öberg family from Gotland! Shortly thereafter, things take a very ominous turn when Anki finds Gert Öberg’s son-in-law dead and rolled up in a carpet.
Back home on Gotland, Anki and Tryggve hope for peace, but another mysterious death in the Öberg family forces them to solve a murder where nothing is as it first appears.
