In this book we get three whole Emil Wern adventures which are all extra mysterious:

In The Mysterious Messages, Emil and Ubbe cycle down to Almadalen on a beautiful summer’s day. There, they discover that someone has scribbled on Visby’s beautiful surrounding wall! Who could have done something like that?!

In The Pirate’s Island, Emil’s class are finally going on a field trip to Gotska sandön. There awaits swimming on white, sandy beaches, sausage grilling and camping. But when the class arrives, the electricity cuts out – and all the food disappears. Luckily, Emil is used to solving mysteries…

In The Ghost House, there’s a haunted house on the town of Martebo, and in the marsh outside, a strange light can be seen hovering above the ground during the night… Can these two things be linked? Emil and his friends decide to sleep over in the house one night to find out the truth.
