Olov and Kristina are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary with a quiet getaway at their summer cottage. Late at night, a fierce fire suddenly erupts. Now their daughter-in-law, Cornelia, also the clinic’s neurologist, is left to manage all the patients on her own.

Meanwhile, Maria’s relationship with her beloved Jonatan continues to deepen. But when she meets his sister, Sara, it becomes clear that Sara was one of Olov’s former patients, and that she is determined to recover the recordings from her therapy sessions, no matter what it takes.
